Gem of Polish pop

I always appreciated Polish artists (the serious ones), however it's been a long time since I've heard something as good as Brodka's new album. "Granda" is melodic, as pop music should be, but it's fresh, energetic and nowehere near banal. Music and the lyrics are sensuous but powerful, and they give a dose of positive energy for the long autumn evenings.
The album gives you a kick of positive energy and soothes with sensuous tunes.

Monika uses her highlander roots as an inspiration, which makes the album even more interesting.

How can you stay mad when there's so much beauty in the world?

Yesterday, I experienced first-hand that nature has a great calming effects. It soothes your nerves and helps to get a different perspective on your problems.
I was feeling anioux and fidgety, without any particular reason. I couldn't focus on anything, even on relaxing. So I took the bike and went on a long bike ride. The weather was wonderful, sunny and fresh with crisp air. It gave me new energy.  I couldn't take my eyes off  beautiful colors around me. It reminded me how lucky I am to be alive and it made me wonder once again at the beauty of nature.

The beauty of nature reminds you how lucky you are to be alive.

Such moments are worth living for. When you feel alive and free!!
Have a wonderful day.

Inspirational people part 1

Today I've came across a video where Will Smith was talking about motivation.
I knew he was a good actor, and I've appreciated him as an artist, however I didn't know that he was so motivated and could serves as a great source of inspiration.
Here are some of his thoughts that I find especially insightful and in line with my outlook on life:

"There's a delusional idea that all successful people have- they believe what others don't believe.  They believe that something different can happen."
"If you believe in your goal there's no need for a plan B- coz' it only distracts you from the plan A."
"Excel yourself everyday. Act as a maniac on a mission.  If you want to be good at something you must possess skill. You learn the skill by working hard everyday, by making an effort and trying to be better day by day."
"Being realistic is the most commonly travelled road ro mediocrity."

The last quote is my favourite. You must believe in yourself and your dreams no matter what. Dreams are not realistic, and only great people achieve what's beyond other reach.
Let's our dreams soar, and never doubt in yourself.

Fascinating Face of Time

Time. It is everywhere, we cannot stop it, make it go faster or influence it in any way. It just runs its course no matter if we want it or not. Have you ever noticed that we know so little about time although it conditions our lives in so many ways?
We can't stop time, and it ticks the same for everybody. We can decide, though, what we'll do with the time given to us.

I dare say time may be the biggest mystery of science. We can measure it but it is hard to define what exactly time is. In the same manner, it is impossible to establish what time it is now. When it comes to human time, there have been and still are a lots of calendars, different depending on a culture. It is 2011 in Georgian calendar, 5771-5772 in Hebrew calendar, and 7519-7520 in Byzanthine calendar, to name just a few. How do we know which system is correct? Anyways, the calendars are just a matter of convention.
Cosmic time may be seen as a slightly different thing. Although scientists can estimate how old our universe is, it is hard to say if time started ticking with the Big Bang or if it had existed even before our universe came into being.
Such mind-buggling questions require loads of imagination. It is difficult enough to picture a 'time' when nothing existed, so envisioning a 'time' without time is just too challenging.
The greatest physicist,  Albert Einstein, described time as a part of space-time continuum. A fabric with intervowen threads may serve as a model of this contiuum where two dimensions, time and space, intersect and complement each other. According to this theory all past, present, and future events are already there, they all have already happened. Our experience depends on where in the continuum we are in a given moment.
According to Einstein's Theory of Relativity, matter bends the fabric of spacetime.

Such a deterministic approach may put us down a little bit. If the future is already mapped out for us, what is the use in my trying?
Quantum physics offers help there offering a different theory of time. There is an infinite number of versions of a single event, just as there is an infinte number of electron positions in a given moment. It gives endless possibilities of any event, or action.
The latter theory gives hope. If nothing is set in stone, every decision we make may (theoretically!) turn up million possible ways. Isn't that fascinating? We can't even expect what the future holds in stock for us.

Let's enjoy the exploration of the unknown, wonderful world.

P.S The post is inspired by the documental "Brian Cox explains what time it is" Forgive my lack of scientific insight and possible errors.

Is it a dog? Is it a guinea pig? No! It's a capybara!

It's not junk in the trunk - it's a capybara.
The world's largest rodent is amazing. It really seems to me that capybaras have cool personality. Just look at it, it couldn't care less. It's as big as a dog, but eats grass and grain, and it's a close relative to guinea pigs and chinchillas. It's supercute!
This is what happens to your guinea pig when you feed it too much.

Have a fab day!

Finding your place in the job market

Hi there!
I'm a last year university graduate, and I'm looking for a job. Not only in my field, but anything that's related and interests me. I have some job experience and know what I DON'T want to do. Although everyday I'm sending a couple of CVs, I'm not as stressed and desperate as I was before. I stay open to new opportunities and know that my time will come.

Meanwhile I've been browsing some tips on looking for a job and I came upon this website:
http://www.collegeaftermath.com/support-managing-post-college-crises/when-you-cant-find-a-job/

It offers an interesting insight from a recent collage grad.

Hope this new day brings me new opportunities!
Stay fab!

Gotta love TV shows

I'm officially obsessed with TV shows. They're my favourites. Don't have to think too much just sit back and relax. The plot is engaging, and you're sure you'll spot your fav hotties. I couldn't life without the TV shows not to mention reality shows...They may be funny like True Blood, or Hannah Montana (my guilty pleasure), moving and sexy like The Tudors, or unbelievable like Keeping Up With  The Kardashians (my other fav guilty pleasure). The last one is so hilarious because it's all scripted and I can't belive that the producers think the viewers could actually believe it's not!!!! Every episode has the same plotline- first a problem arises, then they argue, but in the end the woderful Kardashian family resolves it and takes a deep moral lesson. Nobody's life is like that! Not even the K's :D
The Kraziness is in the K

Wanna be on top ? ;)
Of course, there´s ANTM with uncomparable Tyra Banks who ¨has been there, has done it¨ and knows best :) But hey, it's good to know your worth and to be proud of your achievements.

True Blood is truly funny and bloody (!) at the same time. It was a fresh mix of a show about love, sex, violence, and Southerness, but with its fourth season it's getting a bit boring. However, I'll faithfully keep watching it, just to see such fitties as Ryan Kwanteen.
Does vampires suck?

The shows give us a taste of life that we didn't even dream about like priviledged (not to say filthy-rich)  teenage socialites of Gossip Girl. Their troubles and everyday struggles are over-the-top and we wish we had only that kind of problems; but nobody said TV shows are to portray life truthfully. Even The Tudors, a wonderful history series, that brings back to life the turbulent times of the Henry VIII' s reign. Although the show must be given credits for presentic history in such an exciting way, I can't believe the people at court were all so gorgeous and the king the hottest man of that times....

When the lion knows his strength nothing will stop him.

I hope I will discover more new fascinating shows soon!
